MESSAGE FROM THE CEO:

The year ahead.

As a new year gets underway, we are excited to share with you some of what 2023 has in store here at SHA:
  • The launch of The Essence of Spiritual Care, a new online education module for all healthcare workers developed in collaboration with Palliative Care Australia. The launch will take place on Thursday 9th February, see details below.
  • It is not too late for you to provide feedback on the draft National Model for Spiritual Care in Health via our online survey. As part of the co-design process, on the 8th February we will be holding our second Health Leaders Forum where representatives from across Australia will consider outcomes of the surveys and interviews to help shape the final model and plan for trials and evaluations. We are excited to have a representative from the World Health Organization joining us for this event.
  • In May this year SHA will be holding a screening of the feature film from the Live the Life You Please social impact campaign. We hope you will be able to join us to watch this moving and inspirational film. Stay tuned for details!
  • Our Mental Health Leader, Jenny Greenham, will be presenting at the International Network for the Study of Spirituality (INSS) conference to be held in Ireland in May.
In February we will be planning for 2023-2024, and I know there is still much for us to do to ensure everyone has access to high-quality and safe spiritual care. If you want to join us in this work, we are currently looking for a Quality & Advocacy Leader to join the team. Click here to find out more.

May the year ahead provide opportunities for spiritual care to thrive in our healthcare sector.
