Join us! Launch of new learning module for health care workers

SHA in partnership with Palliative Care Australia (PCA) is excited to launch The Essence of Spiritual Care, the first in a series of eLearning modules on spirituality in health and palliative care designed especially for health care workers. 

The module will be launched on PCA's new podcast & video series, Thursdays@3 on the 9th of February at 3pm when the video goes live and the module will be available to access. 

Joining us on the day will be Luke Bowen, Chair of SHA's board and Sara Fleming, Clinical Service Director for Paediatric Palliative Care in South Australia. They will discuss “the essence of spiritual care” and the importance of health practitioners understanding spiritual care. 

About the Spirituality in Health and Palliative Care course

The Essence of Spiritual Care module will take approximately 60-90 minutes to complete. There are three other modules in the Spirituality in Health and Palliative Care Course for optional further learning.

  • Module 1: The Essence of Spiritual Care
  • Module 2: Spiritual Care and Professional Practice
  • Module 3: Paediatric Spirituality in a Healthcare Context
  • Module 4: Spirituality, Culture and Context

This course aligns with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, Second Edition – Standards 2 and 5.

It is free of charge and will be available to access via our website from the 9th February 2023.
