Spiritual Care Management Network
    Meeting summary - 9 November 2022
Twelve spiritual care managers/directors gathered at our last meeting for the year on 9 November 2022. They were located in Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory.
It was a terrific gathering with energetic discussions about emerging leaders, leadership and the importance of the spiritual care manager’s role. Participants identified what they saw as barriers to the advancement of our profession in the healthcare sector and these included the need for a clear education pathway that is inclusive and a consistent award for the profession.

The network provides a forum for discussion about current and hot issues. It enables important discussions between management from different states working under various settings. It keeps SHA informed of the crucial issues for the sector which we recognise and pursue at a strategic way as the peak body for spiritual care in healthcare.

The end of year evaluation for the SCMN will provide SHA with feedback which will  inform the program for 2023.
