Kate’s spiritual care practice in clinical settings began in the late 90s. She has significant experience in health care service senior management, national board leadership and HREC membership. Kate is a staunch advocate of safety in spiritual care which was her research focus for an Advanced Master of Culture, Health and Medicine to be awarded in 2022. She also holds tertiary qualifications in behavioural sciences/counselling and spirituality/spiritual direction, she is a member of PACFA, Spiritual Care Australia, and a recipient of the SCA Best of Care award (2014). Kate is undertaking a part time 6-month contract with SHA from July 2022, and when not immersed in this work, she will continue as musician, artist, volunteer and active reforestation of the land where she lives with family, chickens, geese and alpacas.
